nate and jan are married
On May 2nd, 2007 we did it. We went to the courthouse and got married. Well, actually you have to plan ahead for these things so we went the friday before, got a marriage license and then went on wednesday and got married.
We had already planned to go to Portland, Oregon for a 6 day vacation so when we moved the wedding up, it became our honeymoon. I did have to work on wednesday in Portland but that still gave us 5 days to enjoy an area that we were both super excited about visiting.
We flew in saturday morning and arrived in Portland at noon or so. This was the first time either of us had ever been to the Northwest so we wanted to do so many things. Our original plan for saturday was to eat some lunch at Burgerville and then walk around Portland and find someplace to celebrate cinco de mayo. After finding out there were no Burgervilles downtown, Jan made the first executive decision to go visit some wineries. It was already 2:30 by now so i was not sure how much we would see. The short version is that we go to 3 wineries, did tastings at all three and filled up a case with wine to bring home with us.
We were able to make it back to the hotel safely and then did what everyone would do after three wineries, we went in search of a brewpub. We found Bridgeport Brewery and Bakery.
The Next morning we woke up and headed for the hills...
Exercise #2 of the day was at ?? falls. A quick jump out of the car became a 3 mile hike to the top of the falls.
After 20 + miles of hiking and running, it was time for food.
then we headed for the ocean

Wow-Congrats! Looks like a fabulous trip and honeymoon. Way to be spontanteous. Looks like you had great weather too!
Yay for weddings and visitors! Great pictures, Nate, and thanks for sharing a bit of your honeymoon with us. :)
check back a few times this week. I have a lot more pictures to add and i will fill in the story. I have no idea how to add pictures in the middle of the text. every time I add one it is a the top and I have to move it..
Congrats all around!! It looks like an amazing honeymoon with the added benefit of getting to visit Meghan and Alden!! Love all the photos [and I can't figure out how to put them into text either. When I do its totally by accident].
I'll be posting some info as well, but suffice it to say that the house goes up on the market on Saturday, professional cleaners come on Wed morning, pro photographers on Wed afternoon and my agent doesn't expect it to stay on the market long...so we'll see. I'm also composing a race report for the Big Sur marathon...in my spare time.
Congrats to Nate and Jan, can't wait to see you both in person to dole out hugs and kisses!
