129 Days and I am still fat...

NO workout gonna happen today. Did not get up this morning and going to happy hour tonight. Maybe I could get on the bike trainer tonight but I won't promise anything. I did ride my mountain bike a little last night so I have two runs and kindof two bikes this week so far.

8 days until the OLYMPICS. If there was ever anything motivating out there, it has to be the olympics, even this wintery version. The real question is, how much figure skating will I have to watch....

I think there is a column in your training book for beer-drinking (right after bricks, right?), so make sure you count your happy hour...

Sprinted last night and will do IM tonight (probably about 4000 yards).

I love the Olympics for inspiration, although the winter installment isn't nearly as exciting to me. I hate ice skating, although I seem to watch a bunch of it. I'm constantly worried that they are going to bite it on their triple salchows (had to look that one up!) and focus on that instead of the pretty stuff in-between jumps. I've been downhill skiing a couple of times since the last Olympics so I think I'll have a better appreciation for the skiing competition this go-round.

Why ya'll dissin' the winter Olympics? There are plenty of great sports that are held during the winter games however, you have to blame the crappy tv showing for the coverage of all the great sports such as ski jump, skeleton and luge. And who can forget about curling? You should check out the washington post online today. There is a great article on DC trying to start an Olympic curling team. Very interesting motivation for doing so. I'm jsut psyched that my maternity leave will be during the Olympics so that I can watch the daytime coverage and not the crappy primetime figure skating!

Glad you'll be at home for the good stuff, Meagan! When I lived in Michigan I could watch the Canadian coverage of the Olympics (MUCH better and more robust coverage). I'd have to find a friend with cable, but I bet it's possible here in Seattle as well...

Ahhh....something to watch if I ever get my trainer set up...not that I need to bike inside except for the fact that its raining on and off...

Workout yesterday:

gym/weight routine
run/intervals, poorly executed...burst my bubble before I was able to get back to Lincoln park; walked the last 1.25 miles...chafing...bad.

Went to the Dr. yesterday only to discover that my scale [yes, I know, you're not supposed to obsess over the number] has been telling me I'm 10lbs heavier than I really am....I still weigh the same, it just seems like I'm lighter.
