End of 2005 Begining of 2006...reflections??
So, I've been unusually quiet on this space...I know, am I sick? Trapped under a large boulder?? Distracted by some man...there, that's the one...[see photo at left...post Celtic Solstice 5 miler]
More on that topic in a moment...I'd like to take a moment right now to reflect on the months behind us and project forward a bit...
Normally I take time off from work at the end of the year to clear out the house of collected crap, attempt to stick to a resolution to be less of a clutter bug and more house keeping oriented...thus far I've failed every year. Maybe 2006 is the year that I'll stick to this resolution. I have a bit more motivation this time.
My 2005 was a good one...came back from knee surgery, did about 4 races including my longest running race thus far [1/2 marathon] and resolved to attack and conquer a 1/2 IM in 2006...though it looks like through various injuries and education commitments, my merry band of fellow Eagleman participants might be casualities...but I persist.
One big news item for me is that I've been swept off my feet by a great guy [most of you locals have met him] and I'm feeling my way through how this is all supposed to go...trying not to wig out and forging ahead with the same commitment and determination that I approach triathlons...its fun, its supposed to be fun but sometimes its hard work....
Nate and Chris have had the pleasure to meet said 'man' ... and according to reliable sources, Nate's comment was "he's a keeper" ... and yes, your opinion does count even though you're a 'guy' friend.
I won't go into intimate details here since the web isn't always as secure of a place as we imagine it to be...and I'd like to protect the innocent...However, I've been trying to introduce him to the vast network of friends and he's been great about being willing to meet everyone...
I also went to Meagan's baby shower on Saturday [she's due on Feb 6] and she looks fantastic!! I got her a plethora of baby stuff in yellow duck theme from Meghan and me but we [the clan] could do something a little more personal like make a kid sized t-shirt that has Triathalete in training or something a bit more personalized on it...apparently Scott is anti toy and expects that the kid will be constantly by his/her parents. The consenses among the folks at the shower is that the baby will be a boy..which would be nice since Meagan's sister, Amy, has a 3 mo old boy and they live on the Hill as well....
There's probably more news to tell....oh, the soiree at my Casa went swimmingly and all matter of alcohol was consumed and food was eaten....see debaucherous photos.
