Glad to hear you've got your tickets, Nate! I am feeling less-than-enthused about training this week. Sigh. Ran 6.5 this am and heading to swim practice tonight as well.

Haven't exactly decided what to do with the bike. I know I have the use of a bike box and think I'll have the folks at Capitol Hill bikes put it together for me as I don't have a clue about that... what are you thinking? UPS?

I am hoping one of the local shops will rent or loan me a box and then I will put together myself (with the people at the race checking my work!!).

Your running training sounds pretty darn good, we know your swimming is great so as long as you get some great rides in, you will be ready to kick all of our butts.

did a mini tri this morning. 600 yard swim, 15 minutes on the stationary bike then 2 miles run. mainly because I felt like crap and knew I couldn't focus on any one thing but it was good to do all three in one day....

Yeah, I've got to get started on those bricks things soon...

I think I've partially solved the bike dilemma as Alden said he can help me with the disassembly process. Only pedals and handlebars come off so I should be able to watch what he does and then reassemble at Cory's house- dontcha think? Still not sure if I'll try to take it on the plane with me or send it on ahead. Gotta check those options out...

I've had a decent week of workouts so far and am looking forward to a good time with my run club crew on Saturday am. We're switching up venues and committing to a full breakfast afterwards as opposed to our usual coffee and pastry bit. Mmm, bacon!

Yvonne is coming to visit next weekend representin' the district. She'll be my first non-family visitor and I'm looking forward to showing her around! She'll also be able to report back on my training progress to Cory...

Speaking of no-e-plz, do you think she's thinking of us as she's toolin' around Rome, eating fabu pizza and visiting our buddy, Ratzinger? I'm sure missing seeing her little green light when I log on to check my e-mail...

I am dragggginnn....today is the first day back from the whirlwind vaca of Ireland and Italy...I'll link to the photos as soon as I can...Will also give a brief version of my trip. Suffice it to say that the running gear made a nice round trip in my suitcase and never got used...talked myself out of it anytime I got the urge; could have run along the Tiber or the Arno [was in Rome and Florence] and wasn't in Dublin long enough to get my crap together to run...but I walked a bunch of miles; does that count??

On a totally separate note, I lost my cell phone about 1 hr prior to heading to the airport to leave. Will be replacing it today but if you've been trying to call or text me, the outgoing message says that the number is out of service; to be on the safe side, I cancelled my service before I left the country incase some less than upstanding citizen wanted free cell service.

Training starts again tomorrow with my newly suited up bike [flight deck, trimmed cables, aerobars, etc.] and will be biking Columbia course this weekend...time is running out!!
